Lecturer, Advisor / Director of the RCDE Secondary Education Program
Mrs. Cuch, Hunkpapa Lakota, is a lecturer and Director of the RCDE Secondary Teacher Education Program and is based at the Uintah Basin Regional Campus in Roosevelt. As a former high school science teacher, her teaching and academic interests focus on secondary science education, curriculum development and instruction, and culturally relevant teacher preparation. Mrs. Cuch also advises Secondary Teacher Education majors in the Regional Campus/Distance Education (RCDE) while working with the Native American populations in Utah to meet the critical education needs in teacher preparation.
In 2004 President George W. Bush acknowledged Mrs. Cuch’s work in preparing American Indian/Alaska Native teachers at Haskell Indian Nations University. She was awarded Advisor of the Year for USU's RCDE in 2010. Her greatest accomplishments continue to be her role in watching Utah State University Secondary Education students graduate each year!
