Elementary Education Programs of Study


Elementary Education, in conjunction with the Departments of Family and Human Development and Special Education, offer the following programs leading to certification as a teacher. Please note, listed under each major are the Personal Course Records by academic year. 

     1.  Elementary Education - Bridge to Professional Practice (academic year 2018-19)
          Elementary Education - Previous ELED Program. This program offers licensure to teach grades one through six in elementary school

     2.  Early Childhood Education - Bridge to Professional Practice (academic year 2018-19)
          Early Childhood Education - Previous ELED Program. Completion of this program will result in licensure to teach pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and grades one through            three

     3.  K-6 - Previous ELED Program. This program offers licensure to teach kindergarten through grade six in elementary school

     4.  Dual Elementary and Early Childhood Education - Bridge to Professional Practice (academic year 2018-19)
          Dual Elementary and Early Childhood Education - Previous ELED Program. Completing this program results in certification to teach pre-kindergarten through grade six

     5.  Dual Early Childhood/Special Education - Early Childhood - Bridge to Professional Practice (academic year 2018-19)
          Dual Early Childhood/Special Education - Early Childhood - This program certifies a person to teach pre-kindergarten through grade three and preschool special
          education birth through age five

     6. Composite Elementary Education/Special Education - Mild/Moderate Specialization - Bridge to Professional Practice (academic year 2018-19)
         Composite Elementary Education/Special Education - Mild/Moderate Specialization - Completing this program will result in licensure to teach regular education grades
         one through six and special education K-12 mild/moderate

     7. Composite Elementary Education/Special Education - Severe - Bridge to Professional Practice (academic year 2018-19)
         Composite Elementary Education/Special Education - Severe - Completing this program will result in licensure to teach regular education grades one through six and
         special education K-12 severe

     8. Dual K-6/Special Education- Birth to 5 - Completing this program will result in licensure to teach regular education grades kindergarten through grade six and certifies a               person to teach special education birth through age five

     9. Dual K-6/Special Education - Mild/Moderate Specialization -  Completing this program will result in licensure to teach regular education grades kindergarten through grade           six and special education K-12 mild/moderate

    10. Dual K-6/Special Education - Significant Cognitive Disabilities Specialization -  Completing this program will result in licensure to teach regular education grades                            kindergarten through grade six and special education K-12 severe

    11. Elementary Education and Deaf Education - Bridge to Professional Practice (academic year 2018-19)
          Elementary Education and Deaf Education - When you complete this program, you will receive a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a teaching license to                  teach grades one through six. You will also receive a master's degree in Deaf Education and licensure to teach in deaf schools

    12. Early Childhood and Deaf Education - When you complete this program, you will receive a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a teaching license to
          teach pre-kindergarten through grade three. You will also receive a master's degree in Deaf Education and licensure to teach in deaf schools
